Danielle Chubb, Treasurer

Danielle Chubb is Associate Professor in International Relations in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University, and a founding member of the POLIS group within the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation. Her research focuses on the intersections of human rights, peace, and security norms, with particular emphasis on transnational activism, security on the Korean peninsula, and attitudes towards Australian foreign and defence policy. Danielle is the author of Australian Public Opinion, Defence and Foreign Policy: Attitudes and Trends Since 1945 (Palgrave, 2021, co-authored with Professor Ian McAllister) and Contentious Activism and Inter-Korean Relations (Columbia University Press, 2014). She also edited North Korean Human Rights: Activists and Networks (Cambridge University Press, 2018, with Professor Andrew Yeo). In 2024, Danielle co-edited the Australia in the World Series, published by the Australian Institute of International Affairs and Cambridge University Press. Danielle serves as an Associate Editor for Foreign Policy Analysis, a journal of the International Studies Association. Danielle has previously held academic and research positions at institutions such as The Australian National University, Hawaii Pacific University, and Pacific Forum CSIS.
